![]() Well, I'd started but eventually lost track due to life and my desire to read books that were more deserving of my attention. It must have been over a year ago now that I said I was going to be rereading the Shatter Me series in order to shed some light on the deeply problematic aspects of abuse romanticism that exists within the series. The Shatter Me series romanticizes abuse click here for an ongoing, in-depth commentary about abuse romanticism in this series and others. I love the Shatter Me series, It’s simply the best. My list could go on, but no one wants to read an infinite list. This series feels like a group hug that anyone is welcome to join. There are different races and cultures included in this series, along with different sexualities. There’s love between friends and love between family, which was equally as sweet as the romance parts of the series.ĩ. As I touched on earlier, there is more than just romantic love in this series. Also, although there was one big main goal that was shared, everyone still had specific things they wanted, which eventually happened.Ĩ. By happy ending, I don’t mean everything is perfect, but I am saying that almost everyone gets what they wanted (everyone meaning the good characters). Also, Although they aren’t romantically involved they still love each other and understand one another.ħ. They have no romantic history at all which I also love. I really love that Juliette and Kenji are besties. ![]() Juliette’s best friend is male (Kenji) and they are just friends and only ever have been friends. ![]() He can be funny, but there is so much more to him than his jokes. (It’s not because they get along though teehee).Īlso, I just need to give some praise to Kenji as well. His character is pretty funny and almost every interaction he and Warner have made me smile. There’s some comedic relief thanks to the character Kenji. Also, you don’t even feel bad when it happens.ĥ. There is an actual breakup and the people don’t get back together. OK, I’m done with the Aaron Warner part of thisĤ. Also, I have no doubt whatsoever that he would kill anyone who harms Juliette. He is so passionate it makes me want to scream or cry or laugh or something just thinking about him. It is so special because he is closed off and cold-hearted with everyone else, but with Juliette, he is the definition of the best boyfriend. The first time we see him cry is when his mom died and it was heartbreaking. Warner goes through so much to try to get his mother well and puts her before people’s opinion of him. Warner, seems super harsh and cold-hearted, which he can be, but never ever when it comes to his mother. ![]() He has full confidence in her and reminds her how capable she is all the time. Although he is protective of Juliette and would risk himself and give up his life for her, he knows she can take care of herself and respects how strong and powerful she is. He is my favorite book boyfriend out of all the books I’ve read for many reasons. Warner is one of my favorite parts of this series. Thank god! Juliette knows how to get a job done and doesn’t need someone to constantly swoop down and save her, unlike in a few other series I’ve read. Juliette, one of the main characters and whose point of view is in every book in the series, can fend for herself. The character development through the books is really impressive and is something quite a few books lack.Ģ. The Shatter me series has so many aspects that make it amazing, but I’ll name the main ones.ġ. I think Shatter Me is hands down the best book series I’ve read and I’ve read a lot of books. Shatter Me is the best book series and here’s why
